Hi there. I have Office on Windows 8. I had the language proof-reading pack for Russian working fine. My computer eventually got very slow, so I refreshed it by re-installing Windows 8. Now the language proof-reading pack for Russian won't install, which I got from your MS page. Thanks you. Now I get further along the install process and then get a second error:. He told you so on the forum, but then the forum ends, so no solution was given.

So I downloaded the bit language pack from MS and tried to install it. Unfortunately it gave me the same error again. I see however that there one program installed called Microsoft Visual Studio tools for Office Runtime x See attached graphic. Could this be a conflict? I haven't heard anything about a conflict between Office and the Visual Studie tools. It does sound unlikely. Just to be clear, you did download the specific proofing tools for Office ?

Hmm, re-reading your original post, I wonder if you have checked for the programs mentioned in the error message Viso and Project?

Could this be a problem? The error message you cited in your first post suggests that you can't run your versions of Visio and Project together with your version of Word, Excel etc. I guess that the fix would be to make sure that all of these programs have the same "bitness. You may find it worth a try. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Now I get further along the install process and then get a second error: Before installing the language pack of Microsoft Office Excel , it is necessary to install another program, Microsoft Office, in Installation Microsoft Project or Microsoft Visio does not satisfy this requirement, so as for each of these programs a separate language package is developed.

I searched all areas for Viso and Project programs but found nothing. For some history, when we bought this Acer, we subscribed to Office for 3 computers. I re-instaled Office with no problem, excpet this Language Pack issue.

On 64 bit Windows, the Program Files x86 folder is for 32 bit programs and the Program Files folder is for 64 bit programs.
